These are two of several members who have spent 10 years with 4-H. We’ll introduce you to more throughout the Allen County Fair, Tuesday-Sunday. 4-H is open to students through Grade 12 of the exhibition year.
Lauren Manck, 18, of Fort Wayne
♦Has had projects in sewing, gardening, foods and crafts.
♦She went to state fair for sewing, construction and fashion review.
♦“I will miss the people I get to see every year at the fair,” she said.
♦Her favorite memory was competing at the state level in fashion review.
♦She plans to study biology at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Mich.
♦Has had projects in art, photography, models, electric, aquatic science and Share the Fun, and participated in the talent contest.
♦Has gotten honors and awards in aquatic science (Grand Champion) and performed at the state level in the talent contest.
♦“Being in 4-H has been a great experience,” he said. “I have met a lot of people and learned how to persevere through my projects. I will miss my friends and the whole community.”
♦His favorite memories are getting second place at the state talent contest and being awarded Grand Champion through aquatic sciences.
♦He is a 2008 graduate of Sunnybrook Private School.
