When are the polls open?

Polls in Indiana are open 6 a.m.- 6 p.m. Tuesday.

How do I find my polling place?

There are three ways:

1. Go to www.indianavoters.com and click on “Polling Place.”

2. Select the county in which you are registered to vote on the pull-down menu beside “County.”

3. Type in your last name, first name and date of birth

4. Click on “Find.”

OR

1. Go to www.acimap.us.

2. Click on “Public Access” at the bottom left.

3. Click on “I accept the terms of the aforementioned disclaimer” if you accept the terms.

4. Click on “GIS Data Viewer.” A map of the county will appear.

5. Click on the “Search” tab in the upper right portion of the screen.

6. Click on “Search by Parcel Address.”

7. Enter address information and click on “Search.” Election district information will appear on the right side of the screen. Scroll down to the bottom of that window to find the address of your polling location.

How do I find a sample ballot?

1. Get your precinct number via any of the three ways above.

2. Go to the Allen County election information Web page at http://tinyurl.com/alconov08.

3. Click on Ballot Style Variations (it's a PDF, which requires the free Acrobat Reader software) to find out which of the 39 county ballots will be used in your polling place.

4. Click on the correct ballot lower on the page.

Have any polling places moved since the last election?

Precinct 324 has been relocated from Ceruti's Reception Hall, 5725 Hatfield Road, to the community room of Countryside Village, 2320 Washington Center Road. Precinct 314 has moved to Fort Wayne Area Youth for Christ, 2825 Hillegas Road. Precincts Perry A and Perry B have moved to Resurrection Lutheran Church, 14318 Lima Road.

What do I need to bring?

All voters must provide a government-issued photo ID as proof of identity before voting. An Indiana driver's license, Indiana photo ID card, military photo ID or U.S. passport is accepted. For more information, go to www..

How do I work this voting machine?

1. A poll worker activates the machine with a card. Candidates' names and the offices they're running for appear on the screen.

2. Press the button next to the candidate of your choice. An “X” will appear in the box next to the candidate's name. Press the button again to cancel your selection.

3. Advance or review the screen by following the instructions at the bottom of the screen. If hearing- or visually impaired, ask a poll worker for assistance.

4. To cast a write-in vote, ask a poll worker for assistance.

5. When completely finished voting, press the red button.

What if I need a drink?

Better buy it today. It is unlawful to sell alcoholic beverages on Election Day from 3 a.m. until the polls close at 6 p.m., according to Indiana Code 7.1-5-10-1.

What if I need a ride to the polls?

Call Democratic headquarters at 478-8239 or Republican headquarters at 422-1554.

Where can I see updated results?
