Man reports attack

A man was allegedly surrounded, beaten and stabbed by four men Sunday night.

The man stopped his car off Stellhorn Road, near the entrance to Arlington Park, to add oil to his engine when four men approached him from behind and ordered him to his knees, according to a Fort Wayne Police incident report. The men ordered the man to give them his wallet, and he complied.

The man then lunged at one of the men, who reportedly had a knife. The man was cut on the hand, hit in the face, had his wrist slammed in the driver’s door and kicked in the ribs before another car came along, prompting the four men to leave, according to the report.

2 cruelty charges in stabbing of dog

Charges were filed against a man who stabbed a dog after it bit his daughter’s lip.

Billy Dennis, 33, stabbed a neighbor’s dog with a “gothic sorcerer-looking weapon” after his daughter was brought home June 18 with bite marks on her lip, according to an Allen County probable-cause affidavit. The dog sustained injuries consistent with blunt-force trauma to the head, neck, right front leg and back and was euthanized because of the severity of its injuries.

Dennis is being charged with two counts of cruelty to an animal.

Harrison closed

No traffic will be allowed on Harrison Street between Jefferson Boulevard and Douglas Street because of construction on the Courtyard by Marriott hotel at Harrison Square. Concrete barricades were to be moved to the center of Harrison Street by the hotel’s general contractor, Shiel Sexton, and will remain in the street for about a year.

Two men face drug charges

Cocaine charges against two men were filed by Allen County prosecutors on July 7.

Terry Palmer Jr., 23, was pulled over for failure to use a turn signal and was asked to exit his vehicle after police ran an information check, according to an Allen County probable-cause affidavit. Police found approximately 27.8 grams of cocaine in his shoe and a small baggie of marijuana in his waistband. Palmer had a prior conviction of possession of marijuana and is now being charged with dealing cocaine or narcotic drug and possession of marijuana.

Marvin E. Jenkins, 29, fled while detectives were serving a warrant to search his home, according to an Allen County probable-cause affidavit. Detectives found a paper bag containing three baggies filled with 27.2 grams, 13.7 grams and 21.1 grams of cocaine, and also found marijuana and a weapon in the house.

Jenkins is charged with dealing cocaine, possession of a firearm by a domestic batterer and possession of marijuana.
