The author of a book about Doris Day will speak about the actress and book and will show memorabilia at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Eckhart Public Library in Auburn.
Mary Anne Barothy’s book is “Day at a Time: An Indiana Girl’s Sentimental Journey to Doris Day’s Hollywood and Beyond.”
Barothy, who works as assistant development director for the Little Sisters of the Poor order in Indianapolis, has been a Doris Day fan since age 10, she said in an e-mail. As a young woman, she moved to Los Angeles, met Day, worked as her secretary for four years and lived at Day’s home for two years.
