Book fair

Lakewood Park Christian School's book fair is 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Oct. 26-30 at 5555 DeKalb County Road 29 S., Auburn. Dave and Neta Jackson, authors of the “Trailblazer” series, will hold a book-signing 1:15-2:30 p.m. Oct. 29.

Book-signing

Columbia City native William L. Bauer will sign copies of “American Legends” 10-11:30 a.m. Oct. 24 at Brew'ha Coffee House, 120 N. Main St., Columbia City.

Author speaks

Richard Louv, “Last Child in the Woods” author, will speak at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 13 at IPFW, John and Ruth Rhinehart Music Center, 2101 Coliseum Blvd. E. Tickets are $10; $5 for teacher and ACRES partner organizations, free ACRES Land Trust members. Call 481-6555.

Book club

The Monday Morning Book Club meets at 10 a.m. the second and fourth Monday at Little Turtle branch library, 2201 Sherman Blvd. Club members do not necessarily read a certain book. Call Jane at 489-3303 for more information.

Adult book group

The “Classics” adult book group meets at 7 p.m. Oct. 27 at Dupont branch library, 536 W. Dupont Road. “Lady Chatterley's Lover” by D.H. Lawrence is the featured book.

Anime club

Fans of Anime and Manga meet at 2 p.m. Oct. 24 at New Haven branch library, 648 Green St., New Haven.

Read for root beer

Kids discuss what they read and enjoy a root beer float too at 4 p.m. Oct. 28 at Pontiac branch library, 2215 S. Hanna St.

Pokemon club

Kids can bring Pokemon, Chaotic, Bakukgan or Yu-gi-oh cards to play games at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 27 at Tecumseh branch library, 1411 E. State Blvd.

Teen Thursdays

Teen Thursdays take place at 4 p.m. Thursdays at Georgetown branch library, 6600 E. State Blvd. Thursday is henna art; Oct. 29 is a Halloween party.

Author visit

Darcy Vance, author of “The Geek Girl's Guide to Cheerleading,” will speak at 10 a.m. Wednesday and 7 p.m. Oct. 29 at the Allen County Public Library, 900 Library Plaza. Register at 421-1255.

Spanish storytime

Stories, songs and fingerplays are in Spanish and English at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hessen Cassel branch library, 3030 E. Paulding Road.

Computer classes

Internet, word processing and e-mail help computer classes are offered by appointment at Woodburn branch library, 4701 Indiana 101 N, Woodburn. Classes last one hour. Call 421-1370 for an appointment.

PAWS to read

Children can practice their reading skills by reading to friendly dogs that want to listen at 6:30 p.m. Mondays at Tecumseh branch library, 1411 E. State Blvd.
