NAIA honors 3 area men as scholar-athletes

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics has announced the 2009 Daktronics-NAIA Men's Cross Country Scholar-Athletes. Luke Diehl of Huntington University, John Wainwright of Indiana Tech and Alex Bush of the University of Saint Francis were all honored as NAIA Scholar-Athletes.

6 women honored by NAIA

Lauren Johnson, a fifth-year student at Huntington University, Mika Davis, a junior at Indiana Tech, Lynn Alterogt, Robyn Chapman, Wendy Mahlan and Jennifer Wells, of the University of Saint Francis, have earned the NAIA 2009 Daktronics-NAIA Women's Cross Country Scholar-Athletes awards.

SWAC's Englehart honored

SWAC Swim Team and Homestead High School head coach Chad Englehart has been honored as Indiana Swimming Club's Coach of the Year. He has received a trip to USA Swimming's Golden Goggles awards ceremony in Hollywood.

Roehm, Schlindwein named to All-Summit League teams

IPFW senior Rebekah Roehm has been named to the All-Summit League first team for the third year in a row. She finished third in the conference in kills with a career-high 426.

Maya Schlindwein was named to the All-League second team. This season she finished second on the team with 292 kills, while serving up 39 aces, an average of 0.36 per set, both numbers ranking second in the league this year.

Glory Days hosts Parkers

Glory Days Sports Talk, broadcast on wellscountyvoice.com, will host Jarrod and Justin Parker as guests of the show.

Jarrod, a Norwell High School graduate, was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks with the 9th overall pick of the 2007 amateur draft and signed with the Diamondbacks on August 15, 2007 for $2.1M. He was the first high school arm taken in the draft.

Justin, Jarrod's older brother, was also drafted by Arizona with198th pick during the 7th round of the 2008 MLB Draft.

The program airs on 7 p.m. Monday.
