The identity of a man shot to death Sunday night has been released, and the death has been ruled a homicide.
Ian Jacob Crace, 33, died from gunshot wounds, according to a release from the Allen County Coroner's Office, which conducted the autopsy Monday. An e-mail notification Monday from the Fort Wayne Police Department indicates Crace could have been robbed while delivering a pizza before being killed.
According to a news release generated late Sunday night by John Chambers of the police department, officers responded to the 2800 block of Schele Avenue around 10:32 p.m. for multiple calls of shots fired.
Responders found Crace lying in the street and suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
Crace's death is the 20th homicide this year for Fort Wayne and Allen County. The incident is still under investigation by the police department, Allen County Coroner's Office and Allen County Prosecutor's Office.
