5 arrested on drug charges in Kosciusko County

Wednesday, April 4, 2012 - 7:47 am

Kosciusko County officers have arrested five people on drug charges stemming from a Fulton County sting operation dealing with prescription medications last week.

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s deputies and detectives arrested four people on drug warrants Tuesday shortly before 7 a.m.

On Friday evening, detectives arrested Michelle Lee Blankenship, 41, on preliminary charges of dealing a controlled substance, according to a news release.

Information leading to Blankenship’s arrest was provided from a large multijurisdictional arrest last week involving the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department, the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department and the Indiana State Police.

Kosciusko County detectives and Drug Task Force officers were given information that led to the arrests of Travis James Lewis, 18, of Silver Lake; Michael Anthony Lewis, 20, of Silver Lake; Bret Alan Cooper, 18, of Mentone; and Dakota Ray Wallace, 22, of Akron on preliminary charges of dealing and possession of a controlled substance, according to the release.

All four men’s bonds were set at $100,000 by the Kosciusko County Prosecutor’s Office. Blankenship’s bond was set at $250,000.

Police said the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected in both Fulton and Kosciusko counties.
