Indiana Tech bolstered its women's basketball program recently with the addition of Williamston High School standout guard Ashley Villareal.
"Ashley is a very dedicated and passionate basketball player," Williamston High School coach Pete Cool said. "She will do well at Indiana Tech because of her drive and work ethic for the game. She was often called upon to play both a shooting guard and a point guard, and played a tremendous role in helping our team reach the Regional Finals during the 2010-2011 season.”
Ashley won the “Hornet Award” this season, which is given to the player that best exemplifies Team Spirit, Composure and Work Ethic both on and off the court.
“We are extremely happy Ashley chose Indiana Tech to continue her basketball career and education," Warrior coach Rodney Hamilton said. "She will be an effective all-around guard that will be a threat from long range and can set people up by making the extra pass. Most importantly, Ashley is a committed, hard-working player and will impact the Lady Warrior family through her dedication.”
