The Fort Wayne Children's Zoo was voted Indiana's No. 1 Gotta-Do Summer Attraction in a statewide contest sponsored by the Indiana Office of Tourism Development.
As a zoo fan, you already know that the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo is a great destination for summer family fun. Now, the word is spreading to everyone in Indiana!
Hoosiers cast 10,880 votes for the Top 10 Summer Gotta-Dos of Indiana. Dozens of attractions across the state were nominated by members of Indiana's tourism industry.
The Fort Wayne TinCaps placed second in the contest.
"We are proud to be Indiana's top destination for families," says Fort Wayne Children's Zoo Director Jim Anderson. "Thanks to everyone who cast their vote for the zoo!"

Zoo Week continues through Saturday
Your chance to enjoy free child admission, great values and vote for your favorite zoo animals continues through Saturday at Kroger and Scott's stores. On Zoo Day on Wednesday, Kroger and Scott's donated 3 percent of sales to the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo.
Through Saturday, make a donation at the store checkout and "vote" for your favorite animal. Jelani the giraffe is currently in the lead, with Bill the lion and Tengku the orangutan right behind (or should we say, they're on his tail!)
On Saturday, receive one free child zoo admission per paying adult with a Kroger or Scott's receipt dated May 16.
Thank you to Kroger and Scott's for being an outstanding community partner and for donating more than $1.4 million since Zoo Day began in 1993.
Take a walk on the wild side … at the zoo!
Want a great way to get exercise? Take your daily walk at the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo! A new Walking Map is now available, showing the distance of each zoo pathway.
"We know that walking provides many health benefits," says zoo Education & Communications director Cheryl Piropato. "Why not enjoy the zoo's beautiful surroundings as you get fit?"
Download a Walking Map at www.kidszoo.org/pdfs/Walking_Map.pdf or ask for one at the zoo entrance.
