TINLEY PARK, Ill. — Cook County prosecutors have charged five Indiana men with felony mob action after a group of more than a dozen people dressed in black attacked diners at a suburban Chicago restaurant.
A spokeswoman for the Cook County state's attorney tells the Chicago Sun-Times on Monday that the five men are also charged with aggravated battery and criminal damage to property. The attack happened Saturday at Ashford House restaurant in Tinley Park.
Spokeswoman Sally Daly says more charges could be filed later.
Tinley Park police say diners were gathered for a meal when a group of between 15 and 18 people "began an altercation" with them. Police say they think the mob targeted the diners.
Tinley Park police and the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force are investigating.
