The Scott's store at 3105 N. Anthony Blvd. remains closed, but the pharmacy in an adjacent building is open.
Kroger, which owns the Scott's stores, said this morning that it is still investigating the extent of a structural problem at the store. The problem was discovered last week during what Kroger called a “routine inspection”; the store has been closed to customers since Thursday.
In a letter to Scott's customers, Central Division President Bob Moeder said, “A preliminary assessment indicates that repairs may be extensive. We won't know the full extent of the work until we are able to fully assess the situation and agree to a safe and complete plan of action.”
The pharmacy that remains open also includes the store's health and beauty and liquor departments.
“Kroger will continue to take care of our associates in the same way they work hard to take care of our customers,” Moeder wrote. He said employees who normally work at the North Anthony store will be assigned to work in other Kroger and Scott's stores in Fort Wayne.
