Cargo company expansion at airport to add about 50 jobs

Tuesday, May 22, 2012 - 3:07 pm

Logistics Insight Corporation, LINC, is expanding operations at the Fort Wayne International Airport Air Cargo Hub.

The company will invest more than $1 million in the expansion, creating approximately 50 jobs. The jobs will be added over the next year and will pay $10-$14 per hour, according to an announcement from the Fort Wayne-Allen County Economic Development Alliance.

LINC currently occupies 105,890 square feet of the cargo-sort facility at the airport. Under a new lease agreement, LINC will lease 59,480 square feet more, for a total of 165,370 square feet of operations space.

“This project not only adds to the airport's non-aeronautical revenue stream, but it provides the community with new job opportunities,” said Patrick Dooley, vice president of airport development for the Alliance, in announcing the expansion.

LINC's investment will include improvements to internal warehouse infrastructure, IT upgrades and the purchase of mobile equipment and tractor-trailer support. The company anticipates starting to hire for the added jobs next month.
