Not only is Academy Award-winning actor Kevin Costner known for his extensive film career, but more recently as the lead singer for the band Kevin Costner & Modern West, who will be headlining on July 15 at The Neon Armadillo in Fort Wayne during the band’s U.S. tour.
Tickets for the performance will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at The Neon Armadillo, 6040 Lima Road in Fort Wayne, or online at www.neonarmadillo.com. All tickets are $24 general admission.
The performance will begin at 8 p.m.; doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
Kevin Costner & Modern West was formed through a group of longtime friends with a shared passion for music, is says on the band’s website, http://dev.kevincostnermodernwest.com. The band’s country-rock sound is influenced by emblematic American country music, and includes songs about freight trains, dusty roads and broken dreams.
The typical movie star persona and sex appeal found in many of Costner’s movie roles — such as in “Field of Dreams,” “Dances With Wolves,” and “Bull Durham” — takes a back seat when he’s performing with the band, the website says.
