A man was found dead in a home this this morning, and the Fort Wayne Police Department is currently investigating.
The man was found around 11:38 a.m. in a home in the 2500 block of South Lafayette Street, according to a news release from the police department, and had suffered an apparent gunshot wound.
The release said the man was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel. A woman reported to authorities that she found the man, whose identity has not been released, unconscious when she arrived at the residence.
The Allen County Prosecutor's Office and the Allen County Coroner's Office are also investigating.
