An Angola teen boating Friday on Jimmerson Lake faces drug charges, according to a news release.
Indiana Conservation Officer Patrick Heidenreich was on boat patrol on Jimmerson in Steuben County when he stopped a boat traveling west on the lake for a registration violation at 7:20 p.m., according to a Department of Natural Resources news release.
The operator of the 1990 Correct Craft Ski Natique, Nico T. Hensley, 19, had alcoholic beverages on board, according to the release. Heidenreich performed field sobriety tests on Hensley, whom the officer arrested.
Hensley was taken to the Steuben County Jail where he was charged with operating a motorboat while intoxicated, operating a motorboat while intoxicated with a blood-alcohol content of .08 percent or higher, minor consumption/
possession of alcohol, possession of marijuana, and possession of paraphernalia, according to the news release.
Heidenreich was assisted by the Steuben County Sheriff's Department and the Steuben County Sheriff's Department Marine Patrol.
