Hundreds roll with inaugural Fort4Fitness Spring Cycle

Sunday, May 27, 2012 - 4:26 pm

About 700 bicyclists preregistered for the first Fort4Fitness Spring Cycle on Saturday, said volunteer coordinator Adam Smith. The weather was perfect, sunny, but cooler after a 4:30 a.m. rain shower, he said. Several other participants signed up the day of for 20-, 35- and 45-mile bike tours and family friendly 3-mile courses. The longer routes took riders through northeastern Allen County, past horses and waving Amish residents up to Bull Rapids and Notestine roads. Along the way, several dozen stopped at one of the water stops to get off their bikes and enjoy the weather for awhile.
