Just wondering — who made Grover Norquist the king of the Republican Party? Their Pied Piper (who led the rats to their deaths). Then you have John Boehner who has lost power to the crazy tea party people. And Mitt Romney who has no clue about the lives of AVERAGE Americans.

To the ranter who is looking for an affordable clinic for his dog's shots and office visits: Try Hope For Animals at 1333 Maycrest Drive, just off Lake Avenue and Hobson Road, 420-7729. We did, and the cost was about a third of what our vet was going to charge for the shots and visit. Those who appreciate this low- cost service are welcome to donate to keep it open. Now that's a deal!

Obama wants Wall Street reforms for a lousy $2 billion lost by Chase Bank. Never mind that he should call for reforms on himself, for the 100s of billions of dollars HE LOST on the failed stimulus, Solyndra and $5 trillion in new national debt.

I sure would like to see the inspections of food servers in the paper. I looked online and could not believe all the multiple violations by a lot of our favorites.

So the Republican candidate for Lt. Govenor voted in lockstep with Rush in the last presidential election and voted Democrat instead of voting to give the state to McCain. This Republican will now do the same. Vote Democrat to keep her out of office. She is a true RINO.

All of the uproar about the “I (love) Boobies” bracelets is only proving that the adults are the immature ones “snickering in the schoolyard.” Adults, grow up and stop reading more into it than what's there. Get past the “words” and get with the “meaning.”

Price of oil has had a steady fall the past few weeks. $89 a barrel today. A $15 drop! Lowest price this year. And stations in the fort have RAISED the price of gas again! Back to $3.89. You must think your consumers are stupid. Talk about price gouging!

Bankruptcy ranter, you “HAD NO CHOICE,” really! Bankruptcy is for one who cannot repay debts they owe creditors. Your “stories may be different” but YOU put yourself there by your past choices. … take responsibility for your mistakes and move forward.

Reply to $20 million condo — I don't need millions to be happy. Went to college, worked hard, now retired. Not rich! I'm concerned about those who work hard and still struggle for shelter and food for their kids. Rich can well afford to pay taxes equal to average taxpayers.

Fort Wayne has the potential to be a first-class city with a revitalized downtown. What I believe is holding it back is the condition of at least two things: the railroad track embankments at the north and south ends of the downtown and the rivers and the lack of being able to see them from all the scrub trees and brush. Why can't we clean these up?
