Heart health event
Glenbrook Dodge Chrysler Jeep and Fiat will host a heart health event 12:30-2:30 p.m. Saturday at 100 Coliseum Blvd. W. The event is free and open to the public.
Attendees can enjoy a free lunch, receive a free blood pressure screening, pick up health tips from the American Heart Association and enter to win prizes.
Glenbrook Dodge will present a check to the American Heart Association at 1:30 p.m. The dealership is making a $10 donation for every car it sold during April and May.
‘Pink Day’ fundraiser
Neuhouser Nursery and Neuhouser Garden & Gifts will hold a “Pink Day” fundraiser 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at 8046 Stellhorn Road and at 4605 W. Jefferson Blvd. to raise money and awareness for groups fighting breast cancer. Ten percent of all sales during this day will be donated locally to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana.
Donated items for the local care group Hope in a Handbag also will be collected, and a $5 Neuhouser gift certificate will be handed out in exchange.
Women’s weekly walking group
IPFW announced women of all ages may join a “Tapestry Walk the Talk,” a 12-week program, July 10-Sept. 27, which is designed to help women create positive, healthy habits and prepare for the Fort4Fitness 4-mile or 10K event, which will be Sept. 29.
Sessions are at 7:30 a.m. Tuesdays at Parkview North Family Park, located near Parkview Regional Medical Center off Dupont Road; or at 6 p.m. Thursdays at IPFW's Walb Student Union.
Registration is open to all females 7 years of age and older.

New vaccination guidelines
Super Shot announced state vaccination guidelines have changed, effective March 1. Any child ages birth-18 may receive Super Shot vaccinations under these conditions:
•Is enrolled in Medicaid/Hoosier Healthwise.
•Does not have health insurance.
•Has insurance, but insurance does not cover vaccine costs.
•Has insurance but caps vaccine coverage at a certain amount. Once insurance coverage gap is reached, Super Shot may administer remaining vaccines.
•Has insurance coverage for selected vaccines. Vaccines excluded from insurance coverage may be obtained at Super Shot.
