Bright sun shone down on visitors to New Haven Canal Days on Saturday afternoon as visitors braved the high-80-degree temperatures. Children decorated cookies, chose face-painting designs and smiled wide on rides. Adults shopped at the vendors in Schnelker Park, listened to the New Haven Alumni Band and took aim at the festival's first cornhole tournament.
