A fire Saturday evening resulted in heavy damage to a home.
Firefighters were dispatched around 6:40 p.m. to 2347 Getz Road, according to a news release from the Fort Wayne Fire Department. Responders arrived two minutes later and found heavy smoke and fire coming from the rear of the one-story residence, the release said.
Firefighters used an interior attack strategy to fight the fire, which was located in the area of the kitchen with some extenstion to the attic, according to the release. The fire was judged to be under control at 6:58 p.m., with no injuries reported.
The home sustained heavy smoke, fire and water damage, the release said, and the incident remains under investigation.
