INDIANAPOLIS — The father of a slain Indianapolis police officer is expressing dismay that several mementoes have been taken from his son's grave.

Spencer Moore says that when he visited his visited his son's grave Saturday at Crown Hill Cemetery he found that a set of Marine Corps medals left by his son David Moore's best friend and other items were missing from the gravesite.

Moore tells WRTV-TV the items have little monetary value "but they have a lot of value on the heart scale." He's asking whoever took the items to return them to his son's grave.

Twenty-nine-year-old Officer David Moore was fatally shot in January 2011 during a routine traffic stop. A 61-year-old man pleaded guilty to his murder in March.
