Trash-on-a-Stick /Road Lice: Signs illegally posted in Fort Wayne street right-of-way should be removed by homeowners and businesses. (The signs) also can be reported to “One Call to City Hall” 311 phone number. Law in place since September 2007. Do your part to keep our city clean.

Temporary Komets “fan”? You missed the point completely; it's not about your money or your ability to go to games. Learn the game, its rules, players and be cognizant of those around you. Others enjoy hockey, not listening to your life stories or your work or whatever. Get real!

To motorcycle drivers who don't wear helmets: … If all people in vehicles must wear seat belts, what is the reason for no law regarding helmets. I'm 90 years old, and the boy killed last week sped by me on Bluffton Road.

This president deserves the credit for lowering the price at the pump. As his policies put more of us out of work, there is more gasoline for the people that can still afford it. I can't wait until it is back to under a dollar/gallon and we are all out of work.

I open the paper each day hoping there's another editorial page column from Mark Souder, which invariably contains some ironically funny stuff. In his last column, he made reference to former N.Y. Rep. Anthony Weiner, the guy who sent out cellphone photos of his anatomical part that bears his last name. Souder referred to him as “the infamous.” Pot, what's that you called the kettle.

Lady Gaga show was canceled due to “Islamic hardliners.” Think it can't happen here? We have people who will tell you, theirs is the one true religion, that makes them more “moral,” so they should decide what others may see, hear, or even what they can and can't do with their own bodies.

The people in Aboite Township must be crazy. It would be a real blessing to have the beautiful facility that the veterinarian wants to build there. His office would bring added value to the area. There are those of us who are dog lovers and, believe me, we spend money for their care! Dr. Caywood is an honorable person.

Shame on the thieves who took a prayer bench and two angel statues from a gravesite at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery on Engle Road.

The government tells us what and what not to eat, drink, etc., Won't be long before we'll have to raise our hand to get permission to go to you-know-where. Remember grade school?

So many people are on disability for depression. The whole country is depressed. I haven't seen a check in my mailbox.

The street trees along Washington Boulevard coming in from the east are absolutely pitiful. Use some of the newfound state money to replace those poor things.

Are you serious? Now you want Clinton Street renamed? You have … (a $7.5-million) bridge for Martin Luther King Jr., now leave Clinton Street alone! More of our hard-earned money down the drain! Ridiculous!

For the sheriff and the councilman to say that there was no preferential treatment in the councilman's (possible) DUI stop is ludicrous. Get pulled over at 2 a.m., refuse breathalyzer and be allowed to go on your way — that doesn't happen. Elected officials telling lies obviously does happen.

Why all the fuss about same-sex marriage? God spoke on that a very long time ago. Why do we have a problem with that? God also gave us free will, we can do whatever we want to whether the government says it's OK or not. … Choose wisely as God says it will be for all eternity.
