Identity released of man killed after being struck by vehicle on Meyer Road

The Allen County Coroner's Office on Thursday released the identity of a Fort Wayne man who died after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday evening on Meyer Road.

Gerald Wesley Stephens, 42, died of blunt force trauma as a result of a motor vehicle/pedestrian crash, with the manner of death being an accident, according to the coroner's office.

Meyer was struck on Meyer Road, north of Paulding Road, around 9:58 p.m. He later died at Parkview Regional Medical Center, becoming the 15th traffic fatality in Allen County this year.

The incident remains under investigation by the Allen County Sheriff's Department, the coroner's office, and the Allen County Prosecutor's Office.
