The 3,200-meter relay team from Carroll High School, which recently won the IHSAA state title proved that it belonged among the nation’s elite on Friday.
The foursome of Eric Claxton, Alex Hess, John Hester and Jon Harper finished fourth at the New Balance Outdoor National Championships in Greensboro, N.C.
The team finished in 7 minutes, 38.29 seconds, the second-fastest time ever run by an Indiana high school team.
The race was won by Christian Brothers Academy (N.J.) in 7:34.
