We must end class warfare in America

Asked about class warfare, Warren Buffett said, “Yes, there’s class warfare all right. But it’s my class, the rich class, that’s making war, and we’re winning.”

What is the recent numeric history of class difference in the United States? Since the mid-1970s, every metric of benefit to average Americans has been flat or deteriorating. For the top 1 percent from 1978-2008, the share of income increased from 9-24 percent. On the other, hand from 2000-2010, for example (i.e. under George Bush2) real median household income fell from $53,164 to $49,445, a decrease of 7 percent, while productivity rose.

The trend of increasing prosperity for average Americans ended in the mid-1970s. Charles Krauthammer, on Fox News (in April), identified the cause: “The fact that we had a booming economy from WW2 until the mid-1970s was ... because we had zero competition for 2½ decades following the war.”

Krauthammer thereby conceded that as soon as we opened our more lucrative markets to foreign economic adversaries, American growth and living standards started going down.

Libertarians cheered the open borders anarchy that has effectively mushroomed the labor supply in the U.S. and driven down the wages of average Americans. Libertarians automatically oppose minimum wage laws, oppose the payroll tax cut and fight any limitation on job export.

The name of class warfare in America is “free trade.” Free trade gives corporations the ability to use foreigners to drive down American wages, and Libertarian ideology gives them the willingness and moral encouragement to oppress average Americans for financial gain.

Class warfare is an inextricable consequence of degenerate, anti-American Libertarian ideology. The Libertarian rejection of the morality of altruism legitimizes and enables greed willing to harm others. If you want to stop class warfare, don’t look at Barack Obama, hang the Libertarians.

Comments insulting

Since County Councilman Paul Moss apparently did not receive special treatment following his recent DWI stop, I assume Sheriff Ken Fries will be giving out his private number to anyone who is planning on drinking and driving.

The public comments by Moss and Fries are an embarrassment to both officials as well as an insult to the intelligence of most adults. Unless you are among their most ardent supporters or family members, you know the handling of this situation stinks to high heaven.

If Moss really took his role as councilman seriously, he would have waited patiently for the process to be completed; not hurry up and call his pal, the sheriff, to make it go away. Are all DWI suspects allowed to call the sheriff and plead their case, before being processed? Moss has since issued a self-serving statement, while Fries gave a half-baked explanation of his involvement, got a broom out, and tried to sweep all this under the rug.

I suggest these two public servants find a dictionary and look up “hypocrisy,” and while it’s open, check out “integrity.”

It’s the Democrats

Newspapers! Please! Please inform our people that it’s not NOT the Republicans who are holding down voting on legislation. It’s the Democrats.

They are sitting on the proposals that are made in the House so nothing can be changed .The Republicans are passing responsible legislation and the Democrats (are) and letting them all stack up while refusing to deal with them.

It’s the Democrats in Congress who are allowing the president to continue bankrupting the country for their own ends. Not the Republicans who are in the minority there now.

That’s why nothing is being done to stop this insanity in Washington, D.C.
