WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. – Authorities say a 3-year-old Alabama girl died after a truck crashed into a West Memphis funeral home where the child and her family were attending a visitation. West Memphis Police Chief Donald Oakes says the girl died at a hospital after the Thursday night crash at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home.
Authorities say the driver may have suffered a medical condition.
Oakes tells The Commercial Appeal the girl’s 5-year-old sister and mother will be released from the hospital soon. A 54-year-old woman, also related to the family, is in critical condition.
Authorities have not released the family’s names but say they are from Jasper, Ala.
