Monday, June 25, 2012 - 1:10 pm

The Turnstone Flyers power soccer team fell just short of its fourth national championship in six years, falling to the Courage Blizzard from Minnesota at the Presidents Cup Championship in Minneapolis on Saturday. The Flyers out-scored their opponents 26-9 in eight tournament games.

The Flyers advanced through pool play without giving up a goal and then beat the BORP Crushers from California 6-0 in the quarterfinals. Turnstone then beat the Holister Free Wheelers from California 3-2 in the semifinals.

The team is coached by Sam Labas and asssistant Mark Berron. Team members include Autry Keener, David Downling, Lucas Wable, Robin Gibson, Jonathan Shepler and Greg Buse.
