LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The project to repave the John F. Kennedy Memorial Bridge over the Ohio River at Louisville has been changed, and the result is that drivers will have fewer lanes to use while the work is being done.
The changes were starting Tuesday night, and instead of southbound traffic having two lanes, crews will be working on all three southbound lanes. Southbound drivers will be restricted to one crossover lane on the northbound side. Northbound traffic will have two lanes during this phase of construction, until 5 a.m. EDT July 4.
Beginning at midnight on July 4, that will change, and traffic will be restricted to one lane for northbound traffic, with two lanes for southbound traffic.
There have also been adjustments for ramp closures.
