Veterans urged to avoid power-minimized VA Health Systems facilities

Saturday, June 30, 2012 - 7:03 am

Veterans in need of medical services are being urged to go to non-VA medical facilities for the time being.

According to a news release, the northern Indiana health systems for the VA are currently running on limited power. As a result, all veteran patients in the Fort Wayne area with a medical emergency have been requested to report to either St. Joseph or Parkview hospitals for treatment.

Veterans in need of medical attention who are located outside the Fort Wayne area are advised to go to the nearest community hospital for treatment, the release said.

Notification will be made when the medical systems return to full power, according to the release.
