I&M reports progress in power-restoration efforts

Tuesday, July 3, 2012 - 9:35 am

Indiana Michigan Power reports that 9,000 more customers had electricity restored by 4 p.m., leaving around 45,000 in the greater Fort Wayne area still to be served.

The utility also said in a news release that additional crews are coming to Allen County to provide assistance. Estimates for full restoration were not revised, which means that the utility predicts that around 80 percent of Allen and Whitley county consumers still without power will have service restored by late Wednesday, with the rest possibly extended to the weekend.
