INDIANAPOLIS — Witnesses say many people scattered during late-night gunfire in a busy Indianapolis nightclub and restaurant area, with police saying one man was wounded.
The gunfire happened about 2:30 a.m. Thursday in the Broad Ripple area on the city's north side. More than a dozen police squad cars swarmed the area and officers detained several people for questioning.
Qwan Jones tells WTHR-TV that he heard shots along the main street through the district. Corey Chapman tells WRTV that many people ran and sought cover during the gunfire.
The stations report that police said the wounded man was shot in the side outside one of the nightclubs and he was taken to a hospital in stable condition.
