GREENFIELD — The father of a 4-month-old central Indiana girl who died after she was left inside a car in 105-degree heat has pleaded not guilty to child neglect charges.

The Indianapolis Star reports that 18-year-old Joshua Stryzinski of Greenfield appeared Monday in a Hancock County court.

WTHR-TV reports the baby was left alone in the car for about two hours Saturday. Court documents say Stryzinski told officers he thought a friend was watching the child, but he had dropped the friend off earlier. Documents say the temperature inside the car reached 119 degrees.

An autopsy found the girl had third-degree burns to her legs and arms.

Stryzinski remained in custody Monday at the Hancock County Jail under $50,000 bail.
