FISHERS — A spokeswoman says Indiana's child services agency has previously been involved with the family of a woman accused of leaving her 16-month-old daughter in a sweltering SUV in 105-degree heat.
Department of Child Services spokeswoman Stephanie McFarland said Monday that the agency had contact with Meg Trueblood's family several years ago. She says she can't say more because of confidentiality laws.
Fishers police spokesman Tom Weger says the girl was released from an Indianapolis hospital to her grandmother's custody on Sunday.
Police in the northern Indianapolis suburb broke the SUV's side window to rescue the girl Saturday.
The 30-year-old Fishers woman was arrested on a preliminary charge of neglect. Trueblood couldn't be located for comment because no phone number was listed in her name.
