A big thank you to family, friends and neighbors for their concern and help after the big strom and I&M for restoring service as soon as possible and giving ice to those who needed it. Fort Wayne is a great place to live!

During the recent power outage, we were searching for a generator. Lowe's on Illinois Road said they were out but were hoping to get some in. They offered to put us on a wait list, and when they called to say they were in, they held it until we could get to their location. They even took $100 off the price to help out the community. Kudos to Lowe's!
I'd like to send a cheers to the staff who worked at Menard's East (5511 Meijer Drive) on June 30. I trekked to the store from Waynedale looking for coolers and other supplies during the power outage. Despite the fact the store was operating on limited power, the staff working that day were the most courteous and professional I have ever encountered in any retail chain store. To help customers endure the heat and long waits at checkout lines, staff were offering bottled water to anyone who wanted it. Everyone was friendly and engaged with the customers. Great job to all!
