A little off course
Adam Scott was cruising along at the British Open, holding a four-shot lead Sunday. Unfortunately, all Els broke loose on the final four holes. Scott might be able to play his collapse into a major motion picture. Working title: “Bogey Nights.”
Detroit goes export route
Detroit Lions cornerback Aaron Berry was arrested for the second time since June 23. His arrest brings the Lions' total of player arrests to seven this offseason. To fix this problem, the Lions will appeal to the NFL to include June and July as “in-season” months.

In responses, several other football programs privately vowed to change their culture, including skirting recruiting rules only from Mondays through Saturdays.
Dynasties generally start with a title
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick made a comment about the Eagles developing a potential dynasty. Two coaches have no problem with the comments: Eagles coach Andy Reid, because he's supportive of his player, and Jets coach Rex Ryan, because someone else stuck their foot in their mouth for a change.
Summertime holiday
The Boston Celtics reached an agreement with free agent guard Dionte Christmas. The Celtics believe if you sign Christmas in July, you're bound to have a great new year.
