City crews will take a second pass through Fort Wayne to collect leftover debris still littering residents’ lawns after two windstorms that blew through town June 29 and July 5.
Mayor Tom Henry asked for the second pass to accommodate people who may have missed the first round of debris pickup, according to a news release. For the second round, the city is asking residents to have their debris on the curb by Wednesday.
So far, crews have picked up debris or scheduled pickup dates in all but five of the city’s 51 collection areas, the release said. A pickup schedule is available at the city’s website, cityoffortwayne.org.
Residents affected by the storms also have through Sunday to fill out an online damage assessment through the Indiana Department of Homeland Security at in.gov/dhs. The damage reports could be used to secure federal aid.
