Congrats to Leo-Grabill 8U softball team on its Defiance Tourney victory over the (recent) weekend. They played three games in the 105-degree heat and beat some quality opponents. They showed great sportmanship and character, while other teams and fans did not. Kudos to you!

Tip of the hat to Greg Newport, president of the Hoosier Palomino Association and local 4-H leader, for volunteering his time to judge a recent horse show at Camp Red Cedar. Camp Red Cedar offers riding programs for kids and adults with and without disabilities.
Tip of the hat to a brother and sister who were driving right behind the car that crossed the center line and killed two on a motorcycle at Ardmore Avenue and Covington Road. They jumped out and applied CPR and first aid until the police arrived. Anyone who witnessed that gruesome sight is still affected. Thanks to each of you.
