It's often difficult to obtain tickets to see the Notre Dame football team in person, so WOWO-AM/FM has brought the Fighting Irish to the football fans of its listening region.
The Fort Wayne-based radio station has added Notre Dame football to its on-air lineup for the 2012 season.
“It was a no brainer to partner the two legendary brands in Fort Wayne,” Federated Media Market Manager Jim Allgeier said in a release. “Notre Dame football is important to the Fort Wayne market and we are excited to have the Irish aboard.”
The broadcasts will begin on Sept. 1 at 9 a.m. when the Fighting Irish travel to Dublin, Ireland for a game against Navy.
Following that game, the Irish will face one of the toughest and most exciting schedules in college football in 2012.
“Fort Wayne listeners will hear great match-ups for the Irish in 2012 as they face Michigan, Michigan State, Miami, Oklahoma, Pitt and USC,” WOWO Operations Manager Gregg Henson said. “This is a win-win for WOWO and Notre Dame football.”
