Monday, July 30, 2012 - 5:13 pm

Purdue will get a jump start on its 2012-13 men's basketball season early next month with a series of four games on an exhibition tour of Italy.

The Boilermakers will be on the trip from Aug. 7 to 17 and open the tour with a game on Aug. 9 (Italian time) against All Star Italy at the Arena Altero Felizi, located at Via Flamina 867, Rome. The game will be played at 1:30 a.m. (EDT) on Aug. 10.

Purdue’s second contest will be against Lithuanian second division club Atletas Kaunas on Aug. 12. Again, the game will be played at 1:30 a.m. (EDT) on Aug. 13 and it will be at the Basketball Hall at Via Leonardo da Vinci in Montestini.

The Boilermakers will play for a third time on Aug. 14 (2 a.m. Aug. 15 EDT) when they take on Vicenza All Star at the Palasport on Via Manzoni in Creazzo.

Purdue’s finale in Italy will take place on Aug. 16 (2 a.m. Aug. 17) when it meets Amici del Campetto at the Basketball Hall Palaborsani on Via per Lognano in Castellanza.

Web streaming is unlikely, but purduesports.com will provide complete coverage of the Boilermakers’ entire trip.
