A man was reportedly in critical condition this morning after apparently being shot.

Fort Wayne Police Department officers were dispatched around 6:16 a.m. to the 1800 block of Broadway to investigate a report of an unconscious male, according to a news release. Officers found the man, whose identity has not been released, and discovered that he had been shot.

Paramedics originally judged the man to be in serious condition at the scene and transported the man to a local hospital; the man was downgraded to critical condition at the hospital, according to the release.

The shooting is being investigated by the police department and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office.
