•IPFW Geology Professor James Farlow has led a research team to document dinosaur tracks along the Glen Rose Paluxy River, Glen Rose, Texas. The dig is partially funded by National Geographic Society. Farlow has worked the Glen Rose site since 2008 and recently published “The Complete Dinosaur: Life of the Past (second edition).”
•Fort Wayne Community Schools announced the application for free and reduced-price meals and textbooks for students is now available online at http://ftwayne.schoollunchapp.com for the 2012-13 school year. Applications are accepted throughout the year but need to be returned by Aug. 10 to be processed in time for the first day of school on Aug. 20.
Paper applications are also available at all FWCS schools; the Student Services Office, 1200 S. Clinton St.; and Nutrition Services, 3211 W. Ludwig Road. Applications are available in English and Spanish.
Income eligibility guidelines for 2012-13: Family of two, $27,991; three, $35,317; four, $42,643; five, $49,969; six, $57,295; seven, $64,621; eight, $71,947; and additional family members, $7,326.
•ProFed Credit Union announced the winners of the Carroll R. Phillips Scholarship: Megan Evans of Bluffton, who will attend Ball State University; Renee Frantz of Fremont, who attends the University of Indianapolis; Katherine Griebel of Monroeville, who will attend Indiana University, Bloomington; Austin Lewellen of Fort Wayne, who will attend Oberlin Conservatory of Music; and Logan McLay of Fort Wayne, who will attend Wake Forest University.
