Local author published

Susan Braun of Fort Wayne has announced the publication of her new book for tweens and teens, “Not So Happily Ever After: The Tale of King Ludwig II.” The book is available in paperback and Kindle editions at Amazon.com. Braun taught elementary school for eight years, and her students inspired her to write the book by their enthusiasm each year for her tales of “Mad King Ludwig.” She is the recipient of a Lilly Endowment Teacher Creativity Fellowship and a National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Study Scholarship, both involving European history.

Adult book group

The adult book group meets at 2 p.m. Aug. 29 at Aboite branch library, 5630 Coventry Lane. “The Paris Wife” by Paula McLain is this month's book.

Books-n-Bagels

High school home schoolers will meet at 10 a.m. Friday to discuss “The Blue Sword” by Robin McKinley at the Allen County Public Library, 900 Library Plaza.

New book

Wanda E. Brunstetter will be available to sign copies of her new book, “The Half-Stitched Amish Quilting Club,” as well as copies of her other books, 4-6 p.m. Aug. 24 and 9:30-11:30 a.m. Aug. 25 at Blue Gate Theater, 195 N. Van Buren St., Shipshewana. The theater will hold the premiere of “Half-Stitched: The Musical,” based on Brunstetter's newest book, at 7 p.m. 1-888-447-4725.

Author visit

Wanda E. Brunstetter will make an author visit at 2 p.m. Aug. 14 at Grabill branch library, 13521 State St., Grabill. Her books will be for sale, and she will sign autographs.

Ease into eBooks

Owners of eReaders, tablets, smartphones and laptops who need help downloading eBooks from the Allen County Public Library's website can attend an information session at 1 and 7 p.m. Aug. 16 at Tecumseh branch library, 1411 E. State Blvd.
