Tip of the Hat

Saturday, August 4, 2012 - 12:01 am

A great big tip of the hat to Sylvia (Allen) Tjaden ('65) chairperson; Susan (Berghoff) Prowant ('54); Patty (Hartman) Hoeppner ('62); and Margie (Abbott) Bauer ('57); and other alumni members for all of their great efforts in planning our Central Catholic High School all-alumni annual dinner June 30 at Classic Café, 4832 Hillegas Road. A great time was had by all!

Thank you, the Rev. Edward Ruetz. You are a hero for writing your excellent letter to the editor referring to the “bishops' militant Fortnight for Freedom as misguided and arrogant …”

Erin's House for Grieving Children would like to tip its hat to three young philanthropists: Michael and Patrick Herald and Sierra Shupe, who orchestrated a lemonade stand and raised money for Erin's House for Grieving Children. With their donation, they included an encouraging note “to continue the good work.”

Tip of the hat to Biaggi's Ristorante Italiano and Ken Davenport, managing partner, for donating the food and location for the McMillen Center for Health Education's “Champions and Donors” breakfast July 25. The breakfast buffet and service were outstanding!
