Police investigate possible murder-suicide in Kosciusko County

Tuesday, August 7, 2012 - 4:24 pm

The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department and coroner's office are investigating an apparent murder-suicide Tuesday morning at a mobile home park south of Warsaw.

Sheriff's deputies responded to a call from a concerned neighbor to check the welfare of two individuals at a home at 2789 South Country Club Road. Officers entered the home at 7:31 a.m. and found James Willis Kinzer, 47, and his wife, Jane Ellen Kinzer, 46, dead of apparent gunshot wounds, according to spokesman Sgt. Chad D. Hill.

Coroner John Sadler said it appears from preliminary evidence at the scene that the deaths were a result of a murder-suicide. A lengthy suicide note left by the couple was found at the home by evidence technicians, according to Sadler.

Sadler said the autopsies would be Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning in Fort Wayne.
