The Indiana Department of Transportation said it would activate new traffic lights Tuesday at the intersection of Lima (Indiana 3) and Hathaway roads.
The department installed the signals to improve safety because of frequent wrecks at the intersection, which sees heavy traffic from parents, students and school buses headed to Carroll middle and high schools. The intersection previously had only stop signs for traffic on Hathaway.
The new signals will include left-turn arrows for traffic turning onto Hathaway from Lima. The intersection is about one mile north of Carroll Road.
