When are the oil companies going to stop using the excuse of refinery problems to raise the price of gasoline at the pumps? Wake up, Midwest. Time to boycott! Our voices need to be heard!
A recent ranter found it “hard to understand the thinking of educators” regarding the teaching of “danger awareness” to young people. Why place the responsibility solely on educators? Parents are the first teachers of children; place some responsibility on their shoulders!

If … (a major membership-based retailer) wants to come to Fort Wayne, why don't they reuse the vacant Home Depot or former Marsh buildings? So much waste. They could still hire people to renovate the insides.
I oppose same-sex marriage, but I also oppose any hatred against such people. There is a big difference between opposing and hating. The Catechism of the Catholic Church says that “every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided” and that homosexuals are “called to chastity.”
Every time I have called 311 about dead city trees in front of my house and on my street, I have been told that the city is making a survey of the city trees. … A large limb fell across the street, barely missing a parked car, not related to the storm. There are many other dead limbs about to fall on persons or property.
In your Aug. 6 publication of Liz Brown's editorial on Page 6A, you listed several credentials for Ms. Brown, including “candidate for mayor in the GOP primary.” Based on the tone of her editorial, it seems you forgot to add “sore loser” to her credentials.
How in the hell can the “officials” call the shooting at the mosque in Wisconsin a hate crime and those same idiots be the first to say “Let's not pass judgment” and dance way away from calling it a hate crime when a Muslim kills 13 and wounds several at Fort Hood?
I saw the Rant on the Aug. 3 Local page about leaving America if you don't like free speech about American exceptionalism! I agree about free speech! If you don't like the owner of Chick-fil-A professing his religion and his free speech, don't let the door hit “you know where” on your way out!
It's time that … (a gravel company) doesn't blast the whole neighborhood. The county officals should look into this problem.
Telling people (who denigrate the good old U.S.A.) to leave this country is free speech. But you don't have to go just because I commanded you to. But if you do decide to leave, I will be glad to help you pack.
We have many citizens here who stay in their locked homes and only go places in our locked cars or with another person in a locked car. We don't go to the parks or anywhere we might encounter crowds. We don't carry purses, and our men don't carry wallets in their back pockets.
Never (not even in the real Depression) have so many women paid hair people so much to look so weird with their hair! People — just hold your head under a running faucet and let it dry — you'll get the same results!
