Can candidate Paul Ryan save America?

Paul Ryan’s selection as vice presidential candidate is the culmination of the Libertarian infestation of the Republican Party. FOX news celebrated, but failed to ask the question, what does the Republican leadership really want?

Mitt Romney, America’s flip-flop king, lauds innovation in his speeches, for example. Apple is a great innovator; however, they are also one of the largest exporters of employment to China. Job export is how Romney proposes to help average Americans?

Ryan, a RINO disciple of Ayn Rand, claims to be the expert in economic growth. What he means is a rerun of the Bush2 policies, which produced negative private- sector jobs and nearly doubled both the public debt and food stamp rolls.

Innovation and growth sound great, but one must understand what R&R really think. The best way to do this in the case of the libertarians is to look at their intellectual progenitors.

Friedrich Nietzsche is the originator of the übermensch theory that is the basis of libertarian thinking: superior individuals must be unfettered and must not be dragged down by the laws and morals of the lowly masses, i.e. democratic electorates. This is also the basis of Nazism.

Joseph Schumpeter is lionized as the originator of the economic theory of“creative destruction.” Schumpeter thought that the Great Depression was healthy for America, since it would increase productivity. “Creative destruction” is a libertarian euphemism for economic boom-and-bust, which is to be deliberately engineered (by deregulation), not avoided.

And finally is Ayn Rand, the queen kook. Rand’s libertarianism is ultimately a process of intellectually excusing the love of money, the greediest elements of humanity and the hatred of average people. Rand, an avowed and belligerent atheist, refers to average people in her mangum opus as “parasites, looters and moochers.”

These three people now lead the Republican Party. The U.S. economy has been run based on libertarian ideology for the last 40 years, and this resulted in the intensification of the power and wealth of the 1 percent. The libertarian ideology believed in by Paul Ryan is ultimately driven by the love of money.

Do you still wonder why we are in the mess we are in?
