INDIANAPOLIS — Attorney General Greg Zoeller is expected to let victims of last year's Indiana State Fair stage collapse know soon how they can get shares of the $6 million that lawmakers approved for them earlier this year.
Zoeller spokesman Bryan Corbin says the guidelines could be sent to claimants or their attorneys within days. That comes after a plan to link the state money to a settlement with stage owner Mid-America Sound Corp. fell apart this week.
Some of the rules already are laid out in the legislation. They include a provision that victims agree not to seek damages against the state via third-party "indemnification" claims. The provision is designed to protect the state from a Mid-America lawsuit.
