The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating a shooting from Saturday night that left a teenager in critical condition.
The incident took place around 9:53 p.m., according to a news release. Officers responded to the intersection of Boltz and Warsaw streets to investigate a report of a shooting, where they reportedly found a male who had an apparent gunshot wound.
Paramedics transported the teen, whose identity was not released, to a local hospital. The teen was originally judged to be in serious condition but was downgraded to critical at the hospital.
Preliminary investigation indicates the teen who was shot and another person were riding bicycles, heading south on Warsaw. Witnesses told police investigators that gunshots were fired from a dark-colored car that was last seen traveling south on Warsaw.
No arrests have been made and no information regarding possible suspects was released. The incident remains under investigation by the police department and the Allen County Prosecutor's Office.
